Our body needs to move every day!

At the Green Heron Personal Training we believe that taking time to do physical activity every day is as essential as eating or sleeping. All it takes is an hour a day to move and have fun doing it. Most people can start with walking… Walking is one of the best activities: it helps you unwind, gives you time to think or meditate, deepens your breathing and oxygenates your body. All you need is a good pair of running shoes/walking shoes.

 

Walk in your neighborhood for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour… slow or fast. You find it boring alone? Do it with someone or with the dog. Commit to walk once, twice or three times a week. To make sure you don’t forget, write it in your schedule. Walking is free so enjoy it many times a week!

 

Find physical activities you like to do!

The next step is to find the activities you like doing: dancing, cycling, swimming, running, hiking, canoeing, yoga, tai chi, hockey, soccer, basketball… I am sure if you look at your life there are many physical activities you had to give up or that you always dreamed of doing… If you want you to stay active for the rest of your life you have to find activities you enjoy doing.  If you don’t like it, you won’t be able to keep it up… Don’t forget your body needs to move, so look at some fun physical activity you would like to do. Do it alone, with friends, inside or outside but start doing it once a week.


Then start to think about your diet and getting a stronger body
Once you will be on the move everything will fall into place. You will have more energy and you will be looking for another challenge. Before you know it, you will feel that you could eat better and get stronger. It is still not complicated if you do it one step at the time... If you want more personalized guidance, check the type of training sessions and classes we offer. If you need something different that we didn’t think about yet, propose it. Together we might find a solution.

 

The Green Heron Personal Training is a place for people that want to feel better.  It is also the place where you can learn about simple ways to eat healthier or get stronger. Getting healthier is a personal journey as unique as you are. The only thing we have to do is figure out what will work for you!
